God’s Easter Miracles
by Lee Ann Mancini
In God’s Easter Miracles, the sea kids learn that Easter isn’t about the Easter bunny or candy. It’s about Jesus Christ giving up His life for all of us, and how we are to sacrifice ourselves for others.
Paul, who is autistic, struggles with relationships, Jimmy doesn’t want to share, and Lenny clings to life due to a terrible boat accident. On Easter Sunday, the children witness the power of their prayers. Their Sunday School teacher, Miss Linda, tells the children, “Truly, God has blessed us with many Easter miracles. Lenny was healed, and Jimmy asked Jesus into his heart.” Even Paul has a miraculous change of heart. A true lesson of becoming more like Jesus is learned in this beautiful Easter story of love and grace.
After reviewing God’s Easter Miracles, loving it, contacting Ms. Mancini, reading MORE of the books in her series to my children, seeing their reactions to these adorable “sea kids,” and then personally interviewing her, I am HOPING there will be a cartoon series coming out soon…!
As I write this, my two year old happily crawls onto the chair next to me and asks for “the bubble book” (meaning, this book). He loves bubbles… as well as this book. Yours will too (I’m sure they love bubbles already)!
The children’s book “God’s Easter Miracles” is a wonderful choice to read to children around the Easter season. What I loved about the book was how the conversations transpired between the “sea kids” as well as the explanations given from the adults in their lives. They covered aspects such as the meaning of Easter, what Jesus did for us, and how we as followers of Jesus can show others to Christ through our love.
Usually, children’s books tend to portray one character and situation to focus on while other characters are supporting roles but the style of this book is different. The plot has multiple situations going on and focuses on a few characters lives which makes for a rich amount of learning to be had–especially for children who pay attention to detail! My detail-oriented four year old loved discussing the different situations and choices the characters were making. But overall, I loved how everything tied together at the end in one simple message about Jesus Christ. This book series is beloved in my household. I left the link below for you to purchase it for your little ones, grandkids, nieces, nephews, god child, classroom, etc.
